INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, donated $25,000 to the Treasure Coast Food Bank to help alleviate hunger in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. For the second year in a row, TD Bank has generously provided funds to help feed people in need on the Treasure Coast.
“We are thrilled to receive such needed support from the TD Charitable Foundation,” remarked Judy Cruz, Executive Director of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “With over 100,000 people seeking food assistance every week on the Treasure Coast, this donation will allow us to provide meals for so many people in our community who are struggling to make ends meet.”
Because $1 donated can provide 7 meals, TD Bank’s contribution will help Treasure Coast Food Bank provide 175,000 meals throughout the year.
“At TD Bank, we strive to be the better bank by building on our commitments to the communities we serve,” said Hector Ortiz, Retail Market Manager for TD Bank. “Challenges are great in many communities, driving people to food banks and shelters for the very first time. We are proud to support Treasure Coast Food Bank during this time when many people are in need.”
A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation provide financial and other support to affordable housing initiatives, financial literacy and education, and the environment, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
