The World Goes Round extended through Feb. 18

VERO BEACH — The first show of the 2011-2012 Second Stage Season, the musical revue The World Goes Round, is a hit with critics and audiences alike and due to popular demand has been extended an extra week of performances, through Feb. 18.

The World Goes Round is an impeccable, show stopping-musical, showcasing the musical genius of Kander and Ebb, Creators of the Broadway smashes Cabaret and Chicago.

In this outstanding retrospective of their work, the vast range of human experience is explored in song after song by one of theater’s most daring and successful musical writing teams.

This glittering revue features unforgettable gems from throughout Kander and Ebb’s incredible career in theatre, film and television, including songs from New York, New York, Funny Lady, Kiss Of The Spiderwoman and more.

Some of the songs in this passionate, funny and up-lifting evening of music include: “All That Jazz,”, “Cabaret,” “New York, New York,” “Maybe This Time,” “We Can Make It,” “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” and over 20 more.

First beginning its life at Off-Broadway’s Westside Theater in 1991, The World Goes Round ran for 408 performances. Conceived by Jacques Deval, Susan Stroman, and David Thomason, the show blends together 14 distinct Kander and Ebb productions to create this unique and enthralling revue.

Riverside Theatre’s production of The World Goes Round is directed by DJ Salisbury and stars Sara Andreas, Janine Divita, Zak Edwards, Jodi Kimura, and Victor Wallace.

The production team includes: Kim Douglas Steiner (Musical Director), Allen Cornell (Set Design), Marc Dodson (Costume Design), Michael Bell (Lighting Design), Craig Beyrooti (Sound Design) and Suzanne Clement Jones (Stage Manager).

The World Goes Round performs through Feb. 18 on the Waxlax Second Stage at Riverside Theatre. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at (772) 231-6990 or online at www.riversidetheatre.com.

Performances are Tuesday through Saturday Evenings at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday Matinees at 2 p.m.

The Waxlax Second Stage season also includes The Gin Game (March 15 -25) and Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks (April 26 – May 6).

The Stark Stage season also includes The Music Man (Feb. 23 – March 18) and A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum (April 12 – May 6).
