James A. Malone, 86, Sebastian

James A. Malone, 86, died Feb. 9, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Aliceville, Ala., and lived in Sebastian for 22 years, coming from Miami.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 11th Airborne Group.

He worked for Outboard Marine Corp., Bill’s Discount Marine, Chalks Airline and Charlie’s Antique Angler.

He was a member of the Methodist and Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf, N.C.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Nancy D. Malone, of Sebastian; daughters, Barbara K. Sherman, of Charlotte, N.C.; Patricia G. Kushin, of Reston, Va., and Tamara Fletcher, of Tampa; sons, Jack D. Malone, of Palm Bay, Martin James Malone, of Miami and Allen Hodge, of Tampa; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Moore.

No services are planned locally.
