VERO BEACH — On Saturday, Feb. 11, McKee Botanical Garden visitors will take a step back in time, to the 1960’s, when a new generation of automobiles emerged…the American muscle car. Loud, fast and full of attitude, the American muscle car pushed the automotive envelope to its extreme, and is still affecting automotive design today.
McKee’s Third Annual Motor Car Exhibition: American Muscle Cars will feature more than 30 of the finest examples of power and performance to be manufactured during this era including carefully selected GTOs, Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles, Mopars and many others.
Also new this year will be the location of the show itself, which will take place inside the Garden. For the first time ever, visitors will be able to view these majestic machines displayed within the lush, tropical landscape of McKee.
“The American muscle car and McKee Botanical Garden each represent an important piece of American history,” said McKee Botanical Garden Executive Director Christine Hobart. ” For this exhibition, we wanted to provide our visitors with a unique opportunity to view them both at a special reduced price of only $5.”
The motor car exhibition will take place on Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. Admission for the event will be reduced to $5, and free key chains will be given out to the first 500 attendees.
In addition to viewing the muscle cars, visitors also will get to view Sculpting Nature, a collection of more than 30 large-scale sculptures representing the relationship between art and nature exclusive to McKee Botanical Garden. This one-of-a-kind exhibition is on display now through April 30.
