Hope Valerie Blakeslee, 72, Vero Beach

Hope Valerie Blakeslee, 72, died Jan. 29, 2012, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

She was born in Trenton, N.J., and lived in Sebastian for 13 years, coming from Tuckerton, N.J.

Before retirement, she was a supervisor for Verizon (New Jersey Bell).

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Blakeslee, of Sebastian; daughters, Melody Carr, of Bordertown, N.J., Sherrie Morton, of Sebastian, Hope Horner, of Fieldsboro, N.J., Larriene Ojeda, of Bristol, Pa., and Tracy Todd, of Clarksville, Tenn; sons, Edward Blakeslee, of Limerick, Pa., and Lawrence Blakeslee Jr., of Fort Lauderdale; sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Walter Keith Blakeslee.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, with a life celebration service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Thomas officiating.
