AAUW Book-Author Luncheon to feature three Florida authors

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its 30th annual Book-Author Luncheon beginning at Noon on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Grand Harbor Clubhouse, 4985 Club Terrace, Vero Beach. The event is open to the public with all proceeds going to college scholarships for women both nationally and at IRSC. Three women Florida authors will present their books.

Diane Thompson Cortese, who has a passion for introducing children to cultural geography and the arts, will talk about Sweet Dreams, St. Augustine, her children’s book that takes you on a moonlit tour of historic St. Augustine, Florida.

Deborah Sharp, formerly a reporter for USA Today and a recent guest on the Today Show, will discuss Mama Sees Stars, the fourth title in her Mace Bauer Mysteries series, set in “Cracker” Florida.

Paula Stahel, past president of the Association of Personal Historians, will present Stories from a Woman’s Life, a workbook on how to record life stories in an appealing and readable fashion.

The books will be on sale and authors will be available for signing before and after the luncheon. Once again this year, Macy’s is our proud corporate sponsor and many local businesses are providing raffle prizes.

The cost to attend is $45. Please call Anne Cunningham for tickets: 772-794-9632.
