Space Coast Symphony ‘Pines of Rome’ will sway music lovers Feb. 5

VERO BEACH – Aaron Collins and the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present “Pines of Rome” on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach, 32960. The concert opens with Prokofiev’s witty and endearing music from his opera, The Love of Three Oranges.

Next, violinist Suliman Tekalli, who has entertained at the White House and throughout North and South America, will mesmerize audiences with his technical and lyric mastery of Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1.

The concert’s second half will treat the audience to two sonic masterpieces, Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. Respighi’s “soundtrack” to life in Rome captures everything from the harmonies of nature to the boisterous commotion of festivals. Featuring an enlarged orchestra, these two larger-than-life works are rarely performed during the same concert.

Advance tickets are $20 and ‘Symphony for Everyone’ discounted tickets are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or can be reserved by calling (321) 536-8580.

Tickets may also be purchased at one of several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments. Tickets at the door are an additional $5. Students 18 years of age and under admitted free.
