From Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory Patricia Ann Horan Yonce, 85, Sebastian July 24, 1939 - March 23, 2025 Patricia Ann Horan Yonce, 85, of Sebastian, FL, died March 23, 2025, at her home after a long struggle with dementia surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, FL on Friday, March 28th from 11:00 to 12:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL. She was born Patricia Ann to William A. and Helen (Elliott) Parrott on July 24, 1939 in Oskaloosa, IA. She spent her early years in Denison, TX and later Bristow, OK where she attended grade school and high school. She later attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. Then for a short time she taught grade school at St. Boniface Catholic School in Louisville, KY. She married James (“Jim”) H. Horan on October 26, 1963 in Louisville, KY. Then they moved to Olney, IL where they raised their three children. Patricia was a stay-at-home mom for most of her life. She brought a great atmosphere to every holiday season by decorating the home for each occasion. Patricia loved anything to do with being in or near the water. Since her teen years she was into swimming, diving and later teaching swimming lessons. When she moved to Florida, she took up boogie boarding, going almost every day to the Atlantic Ocean. Patricia was also musically inclined, playing the trombone in the Bristow High School Marching Band and playing the piano for enjoyment and entertaining the family. Later in life she learned acoustic and electric guitar. She and her daughter performed church songs at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Olney, IL on Sundays. Patricia also loved listening to country, blues and rock music, especially heavy metal. She and Jim enjoyed going to live concerts, operas and symphonies. Her favorite concert was seeing the Rolling Stones in 1994. Patricia also liked to be handy around the house. When she wasn’t busy helping Jim build their dream home on Borah Lake, she was learning cabinetmaking, electrical work and small engine repair. She built a dining room table for her family in the early 70s which is still used by her daughter. Her other interests were reading, roller skating and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. Patricia and Jim were devout Catholics. After he passed away in 2005, she moved to Florida and was a member of the St. Lucie Catholic Church for many years. She met Lonnie Yonce in 2016 and married soon thereafter. They enjoyed boating, dining out, watching movies and listening to live music. Born on January 16, 1957, in Bethesda, MD, to the late Bobby Parry and Beverly Eggeman, they moved to Florida and Susan and her late sister Jan spent much of their childhood on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Though born in Maryland, Florida quickly became home, and Susan proudly considered herself a Floridian no matter where life took her. Everywhere else “sucked”. In the early 1980s, Susan moved to the east coast of Florida, where she married Robert Bloom and welcomed her daughter, Caroline, in 1984. In 1990, Susan and Caroline moved to Delray Beach, where in 1993, Susan met the love of her life, Kurt Larson. After a decade of dating, they decided to make it official in 2006 with an Elvis wedding in Las Vegas—because, well, why not? Instead of saying “I do,” they said “Uh huh!” In 2004, Susan and Kurt ventured to Texas, where Susan’s dream of owning horses and a pet buffalo was partially realized (spoiler alert: the buffalo didn’t quite pan out, but it sure made for some funny stories). In 2019, after missing Florida’s sunshine, Sue and Kurt packed up their three horses, donkey, cow, three dogs, and parrot and moved back to Fellsmere, FL. Susan was a woman of many passions. She was an avid BINGO player, a writer-in-the-making alongside her Aunt Ginny, and a champion at pretending to deep-sea fish (which mainly involved napping). She found solace in her barn with her horses, loved cooking and reading (which often also involved napping), and spent hours chatting about the day she would finally swim in her pool. Always up for a dog walk or a good laugh, Susan also cherished her quiet time in her "Me Cave," where she could recharge and dream up Alison Ivy’s next big adventure. Susan is survived by her husband, Kurt Larson of Fellsmere, FL, who humored every crazy idea—from dressing up as characters from the Dukes of Hazzard for Halloween to installing a stripper pole so she could attempt acrobatics (another spoiler: she never actually did acrobatics). Her daughter, Caroline Bloom of Asheville, NC, who repeatedly asked if she was her biological child and apparently has been shaking her finger at her since the age of 3. And her mother-in-law, Ruth Larson of Fellsmere, FL, who fondly remembers Susan watering her artificial flowers and playfully tossing her late husband Larry into the pool. As per Susan’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. She wanted to be cremated, and her ashes will be spread at sea. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal rescue of your choice, in honor of Susan’s love for animals. From Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory Elliott Lou Walker Brainard, 4 days, Sebastian March 21, 2025 - March 25, 2025 Elliott Lou Walker Brainard, born on March 21, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Sebastian, Florida.
