Wilfred “Wil” H. Gulowsen, 86, died Jan. 14, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He attended the University of New Mexico, where he received a B.A. degree in business.
He served in the Merchant Marine before serving in the Army during World War II.
He worked in the oil industry for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gulowsen; daughters, Chris Leeteven and Laurie Shofner; and son, David Gulowsen, all of Oklahoma; stepsons, Ogden Gorham and John Gorham; and stepdaughter, Margaret Gorham, all of Pennsylvania; sister, Marguerite Cummings; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Vero Beach (vnatc.com).
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.
