Temple Beth Shalom presents an evening of music “Light Up Shabbat!” Services

VERO BEACH — Sheldon Low is the newest face in Jewish music, performing rock concerts, “Light Up Sabbath services,” and leading artist-in-residency weekends in Jewish communities throughout the United States. As part of an extensive tour of the country, Low will be performing in the main Sanctuary at Temple Beth Shalom on Friday evening, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Presented by the Jews Appreciating Music Committee (JAM) of Temple Beth Shalom, the concert is free and open to the public as one of an on-going series of musical and cultural events underwritten by the Ike and Alezah Eisenstein Music Fund.

Temple Beth Shalom’s Cantor Dannah Rubinstein, who will be collaborating with Low at the January 27th service, is thrilled to have him a part of the Shabbat experience. “Temple members and local residents, young and old, are invited to enjoy this extraordinary musical event, meet one another and experience this upbeat melodic evening together.”

The free of charge “Rock n’ Roll Shabbaton” begins at 7:30 p.m. but for those who wish to come at 5:30 p.m. for a Shabbat dinner catered by Adrienne Drew of “Catering by Adrienne Drew,” there will be $10 per person charge and reservations will be necessary.

Low has an undeniable appeal to youth and family audiences, not only as a musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer, but most importantly, as a Jewish educator and role model. Low’s “Rock n’ Roll Shabbaton” at Temple Beth Shalom will be a blending of traditional Jewish Shabbat music presented in a contemporary fashion and featuring some of Low’s greatest crafted melodic creations.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Low is a third generation song leader and over the years developed a large repertoire and love for Jewish music. Low was fortunate to meet and be mentored by nationally touring Jewish artist and owner of Jewish Rock Records, Rick Recht, who continues to deepen Low’s passion for Jewish music and education. Low earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in Medford, MA. Nine months after starting work as an engineer, Low was signed to Jewish Rock Records and is currently the Artist in Residence at Barnert Temple in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Over the last three summers, Low has been a huge hit with teens performing a national summer tour at dozens of Jewish summer camps throughout the country and has been featured as the headliner and head song leader at various national youth group conventions and Jewish festivals.

“I feel really fortunate to be traveling around the country for the past few years where I’ve met some really incredible people who have inspired me to continue to dedicate my life as a Jewish educator and Jewish musician,” Low has expressed.
