“Big Band Bash” Jazz Concerts slated for VBHS

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Band Department presents “Big Band Bash” Jazz Concerts on Monday Jan. 30 and Tuesday Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street.

This evening of jazz music will pay tribute to Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington, among other Big Band greats such as Count Basie, Henry Mancini and George and Ira Gershwin.

Featuring the Award Winning VBHS Jazz Bands, the performance will be led by James Sammons and Page Howell.

Some selections will include Tall Cotton, Wind Machine, Brass on Ivory and Smack Dab in the Middle.

In addition, special guests from Storm Grove, Oslo, and Gifford Middle Schools will perform on the Tuesday night concert led by Sean Srigley, Luke Hall, and Ashby Goldstein.

Tickets are $10 for the Upper Mezzanine level and $12 for the Lower Orchestra level. Call the Box Office at (772) 564-5537 to reserve seats. Visa & MasterCard are accepted.

Proceeds will benefit the education of Indian River County students.
