Ruth E. Miller, 89, died Dec. 30, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
She was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Boynton Beach.
She was a registered nurse for 35 years, before her retirement in 1987.
She was a volunteer for VNA Hospice and the Indian River County Council on Aging.
She was a member of St. John of The Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, and a member of its Women’s Guild and the Order Carmelite Discalced Secular.
Survivors include her son, Mark Miller, of Manchester, N.J.; daughters, Maureen McCormick and Melanie MacBride, both of Vero Beach, Marilyn McSkimin, of Pickerington, Ohio, Michele Broadie, of Englewood, N.J., and Megan Williams, of Melbourne; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur S. Miller, in 2002.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Jan. 4 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
