Karen R. Plantz, 71, died Dec. 26, 2011, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Columbus, Neb., and lived in Vero Beach for seven years, coming from Port St. Lucie.
She was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Bernard Plantz; son, Steve Plantz, of Vero Beach; daughter, Lashelle Halligan, of Crete, Neb.; brother, Gary Robertson, of Columbus, Neb.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.

A service will be at a later date in Nebraska.
