RollerGirls donate $600 to Indian River County SafeSpace

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Vero Beach RollerGirls would like to extend a huge “Thank You” to everyone who came out Dec. 4 for their annual charity drive – All A’Bout Giving!, raised $600 for SafeSpace in Indian River County.

During the bout, the Foxy Felons bested the Punk Rollers in a head-to-head roller derby competition, 108-86, at the Skate Factory south of Vero Beach.

The women came together to put their best skate forward in the name of charity, donating 100 percent of their proceeds to Safe Space, a local organization dedicated to helping those

affected by domestic abuse.

SafeSpace operates modern shelters in Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie Counties, where families can escape to a safe environment.

League skaters Jolie Klyzub and Cari Seelbach presented the $600 check to Art Ciasca, SafeSpace Director of Development on Dec. 21.
