Priscilla Louise Sperling, 69, Vero Beach

Priscilla Louise Sperling, 69, died on Dec. 21, 2011, in Panama City.

She was born in Enid, Okla., on Feb. 5, 1942, and later began raising four children in California before moving to Vero Beach in 1972.

She worked for the Vero Beach Police Department and later as a security officer, where she received awards and commendations for her dedication and service.

Survivors include her four children: Crist Sperling (Kimberly), of Gardendale, Ala.; Joy Waldron (Keith), of Panama City, Vincent Sperling, of Vero Beach, and Mitchell Sperling (Kim), of Reno, Nev.; her cocker spaniel: Molly; her mother: Louise Mitchell, of Lodi, Calif.; her grandchildren: Benjamin Sperling, of Hoover, Ala., Sally Sperling, of Gardendale, Ala., Claire Clemmons, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Derek Waldron (Brandy), of Panama City, Lynzy Waldron Kapoi (Lance), of Baumholder, Germany, Anthony Sperling and Sarah Sperling, both of Vero Beach, David Sperling and Ryan Sperling, both of Reno, Nev.; her sister: Schezel Hazlett, of Stockton, Calif.; her great-grandchildren: Jason, Cooper, Kai, and Dahlia; and good friends: Judy and Joe of Vero Beach.

There will be no service and memorialization is by cremation.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Covenant Hospice in memory of Priscilla.

The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank those at HealthSouth in Vero Beach, and the physical therapy team at Panama City Nursing Center for never giving up; and to everyone at Emerald Shores Rehab for their care, compassion, and professionalism, especially Priscilla, Misty, Betty, Michelle, Jamil, Shea, Clinton, Nell and Heather; and from Covenant Hospice: Sherry, Ben, Janet, and Virgil Tillman, for seeing us through every storm right until the end.
