County Rec Department hosting college winter swim, dive training

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Recreation Department is proud to be hosting seven teams for their winter swim and dive training at the North County Aquatic Center. Training started Dec. 12 and will run through Jan. 14.

The teams include University of Akron (Akron, Ohio), Limestone College (Gaffney, S.C.), University of Evansville (Evansville, Ind.), Kings College (Wilkes- Barre, Pa.), Canisius College (Buffalo, N.Y.), Bryn Mawr College (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), and Deerfield Academy Dive Team, (Deerfield, Mass.).

The teams generally hold two-hour training sessions per day and also conduct dry land training at the facility.

The public is welcome to come to the facility to observe the teams while they are training and to show their support.

Also, public swimming may be limited at times during the college training period so please call ahead (772) 581-7665 or check the website www.ircrec.com/NCAC for availability.
