Dorothy Mae Wykoff, 94, Vero Beach

Dorothy Mae Wykoff, 94, died Dec. 15, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

She was born in Bedford, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 10 years, coming from Indianapolis.

She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Bedford before her retirement in 1966.

She was a member of Vero Christian Church, Vero Beach, former member of 91st Street Christian Church, Indianapolis, a founding member of Hillcrest Christian Church, Bedford, and member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church, Bedford.

She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the XYZ Senior Club, Indianapolis.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Cappelen, of Vero Beach; stepdaughter, Connie Kay Brown, of McKinney, Texas; sister, Velma Todd, of Meridian, Miss.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wykoff; stepson, Johnnie C. Wykoff; brothers, Dale, Lloyd, Fred, Ray and Merle Bodenhamer; and sister, Ruby Grimes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vero Christian Church, 3250 Ninth Street S.W., Vero Beach, FL 32968.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 at Day and Carter Funeral Home, Bedford, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bedford.
