Vero Police: Dania Beach man robbed beachside Chase Bank

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department announced Friday afternoon the arrest of a Dania Beach man for robbing the beachside Chase Bank on Thursday.

According to authorities, Harvey Ward, 64, confessed to robbing the bank, located at 660 Beachland Boulevard in Central Beach.

Ward was arrested by the Melbourne Police Department Friday following the robbery of a TD Bank in Indiatlantic. It was during their investigation that Ward told authorities he robbed the Vero Beach bank.

Detectives from the Vero Beach Police Department traveled to Indiatlantic to assist investigators there and further their own investigation. Ward appeared to use the same bandage-type disguise in both robberies.

Charges for the Chase Bank robbery are pending.

Ward has an extensive criminal history and is currently on federal probation for robbery.
