Vero Beach police investigating armed robbery of Kwik Stop

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of the Kwik Stop convenience store located at 1401 16th Street Friday shortly before 2 p.m. No one was injured in the robbery, during which the robber displayed a black handgun.

The robber is described as being a white male approximately 15 to 17 years old standing between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 4. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front.

He was also wearing a black mask that partially covered his face in an attempt to conceal his identity.

When he entered the store, he approached the counter and brandished a large black handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk complied and the robber fled westbound on foot.
