Essie Lee Parker, 92, died Dec. 6, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Cordele, Ga., and lived in Indian River County since 1952.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Parker, Jesse Parker, Billy Parker and Vincent Parker, all of Vero Beach, Joe Parker and Nathaniel Parker, both of Fort Lauderdale; daughters, Lula King and Charlie Akins, both of Fort Lauderdale and Linda Jean, of Vero Beach; brother, E.J. Parker, of Cordele; 32 grandchildren; and 68 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doveanna Parker; daughter, Thedoisa White; and sons, Willie B. Lester and Randy Parker.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Hortense/Mills Memorial Funeral Home Cemetery.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at Northside Agape Ministries in Vero Beach.
Burial will be in Gifford Cemetery.
