Atlantic Children’s Chorale Announces Christmas Concert

VERO BEACH — The acclaimed Atlantic Children’s Chorale (ACC), under the direction of Dr. Jose Daniel Flores will present their Christmas Concert “This Little Babe” on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Community Church. Suggested donation of $15 will benefit the ACC Scholarship and Travel Fund

A varied program of joyful Christmas music will include selections from Brittens’ Ceremony of Carols. This concert will also feature organist Ryan Kasten playing special Christmas selections in the world class Community Church new pipe organ.

ACC is a selected group of highly talented and motivated students from the Treasure Coast that develops the student’s potential to a high level of vocal technique and musicianship while exploring challenging repertoire.

Last year, the ACC was invited to the “Sing a Mile High Choral Festival” in Denver, Colorado and to the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Florida conference. ACC excelled and received superior reviews at these two “by invitation only” events.

ACC’s current season includes performances with professional brass quintet and symphony orchestras, providing a unique experience to these talented students. In addition to exciting treble repertoire, ACC performs major choral works. Last year they performed the Requiem by Mauric Durufle and this year will perform the Mass for the Children by John Rutter.

They will also perform a Service of Lessons and Carols in the tradition of King’s College together with the Community Church Chancel Choir and a symphony orchestra on Dec. 24 at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Community Church.

Dr. Flores distinguished career includes prestigious positions in the academic world as well as in churches with notable choral programs. He is currently Music Director/Organist at the Community Church, where he has established a tradition of high quality performances.

The Christmas Concert on December 15 has a suggested donation of $15 at the door to benefit ACC’s Scholarship and Travel Funds.
