VERO BEACH — The Oceanside Business Association, together with the Treasure Coast Rotary Club, is pleased to present the annual Vero Beach Christmas Parade on Ocean Drive. The free event takes place Saturday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. The parade features over 40 participating businesses, schools, clubs and organizations, and of course, Santa.
The parade route travels along Ocean Drive, beginning at Flamevine, finishing at Greytwig. The Rotarians and Boy Scouts will again collect canned foods & toys for needy families and Toys for Tots. Come early to grab a great seat.
Initially floats will be assembled at Riverside Park and will be brought for finale staging to Cardinal drive at 4 p.m.
As was done in prior years winners will be selected in the following categories by the secret judges:
- Best of show
- Most holiday spirit
- Most humorous
The winners will be announced following the parade and presentations to the winners will be at the Jan. 14 Sunset Saturday Concert on Ocean Drive.
The following are the street closings that will occur to provide for a safe environment for all of the children viewing or participating in the parade:
- 3 p.m. – parking will be discouraged on Cardinal Drive
- 4 p.m. – Cardinal Drive and cross streets will be closed to traffic from Beachland to Flamevine.
- 4 p.m. – Flamevine will be closed from Eagle Dr. to Ocean Drive.
- 5:15 p.m. – Ocean Drive and will be closed from Flamevine to Greytwig
- 5:30 p.m. – Greytwig and its cross streets will be closed east of A1A.
