VERO BEACH — Three contemporary artists – Timothy Sanchez, Carlos Perez Vidal and Deborah Gooch – will have their works hanging in a new Bayshore Drive gallery during Miami’s huge international art fair, Art Basel, Dec. 1 – 4.
Arrangements for the showing of the trio’s works are being handled by the island’s Intrepid Gallery.
Their works will be part of a large show expected to draw from the run-off of visitors who come from around the world each year in search of art to buy.
On Dec. 2, Intrepid will host a tour of Art Basel, stopping by the gallery “to support our artists.”
“It’s so important to get our artists out there,” says Intrepid co-owner Victoria Palacios. “We want them to be seen and this is an incredible opportunity.”
Intrepid’s curator Silvia Medina is familiar with the Miami art scene; prior to moving to Vero, she lived in Miami and worked at a galleries there.
She has also worked in galleries in Havana and Barcelona.
The show that will include the Vero artists marks the opening of the new location for Nina Torres Fine Art.
The 8,000-square-foot gallery is billed as the first waterfront gallery in Miami.
It staged a similar show of 46 artists from 17 countries last year.
Located in a high-rise in the Arts and Entertainment district, the gallery claims its shows draw 9,000 visitors.
