Habitat for Humanity receives $5,000 check from Bank of America

VERO BEACH — Indian River Habitat CEO Andy Bowler and Indian River Habitat Development Manager Peggy Gibbs accepted a check for $5,000 from Bank of America Senior Vice-President/Consumer Market Executive Ted Helm; and Senior Vice-President/Senior Client Manager Beth Giannone as the award-winning Habitat affiliate.

Indian River Habitat’s (and Habitat International’s) new mission statement is: “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Indian River Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.”

On Nov. 17, Indian River Habitat celebrated its 20th anniversary, having built more than 270 homes with qualified families in Indian River County during the past two decades. Today, in addition to building homes, through its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative and Veterans Program, Habitat offers repair, repainting and weatherization for qualified homeowners and veterans.

To help ensure their will be no need for second-generation Habitat homeowners, Habitat offers an after school program, Prep Club and Scholarship Program for homeowner children, providing the tools and support they need to be successful in school, and as they go on to seek higher education.
