First Saturday at LoPresti set for Dec. 3

SEBASTIAN – First Saturday at LoPresti Dec. 3 will host the first ever Mooney Fly-In Gathering. Speakers will include Gretchen Jahn (past CEO of Mooney) and Curt LoPresti.

Join us for a celebration of the Mooney Story and Legacy. Charity Breakfast will benefit Roseland Food Pantry. Breakfast 9 a.m., program 10 to 11 a.m. with $8 donation.

Please bring canned/packaged food for additional donation to the Food Pantry holiday baskets.

“What are we celebrating?” you ask.

PERSISTENCE and PASSION. In the 35 years since Roy LoPresti reinvigorated Mooney with his brilliant hand, owners of Mooney Aircraft Inc. have come and gone, but we remain.

It’s hard to walk away from a design in which you have invested so much of your DNA. In our case, it’s impossible.

We still make performance modifications for Mooney’s and we still support the brand. Come and share breakfast with us and we will tell you a story; The story of the indefatigable Mooney Brand.

Speaking will be Gretchen Jahn, Curt LoPresti and Mooney lovers.

Gretchen has an impressive trail of aviation achievements. She acted as CEO of Mooney when the company was coming out of bankruptcy. Her guidance was key to bringing it back to life and leading a dramatic increase in production.

Curt LoPresti, as president of LoPresti Aviation, continues to improve on the Mooney designs his father was so well known for. Join us for a candid forum with a host of Mooney Experts.

Ecumenical Council Food Pantry is the beneficiary of the breakfast. The Ecumenical Council is a group of volunteers from local churches in the Sebastian area who care about those less fortunate in our area. If you are in need of food assistance, the pantry is located in the same building as the church office.

The pantry is always in need of non perishable food items or monetary donations. We have donation cans located in both greeting areas of our worship area. Donations can also be brought to the Food Pantry during operating hours.

Families who come to the Food Pantry are given a box of food which contain the following items. Any of these items are suggested for donation:

If a family has small children, diapers and baby food are available. For the homeless, the pantry provides backpacks with food items and other personal hygiene items.

Volunteers from all over the Sebastian area help make the pantry possible. If you would like to be part of our volunteer team, contact Jan at (772) 581-0588.
