VERO BEACH — A “Peace of Art” Showcase will be held Friday, Nov. 18 at Storm Grove Middle School, 6400 57th Street, Vero Beach. This first-ever showcase will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria and will include silent and live auctions, an optional formal dinner provided by Concessa’s Island Flair, as well as performances by the SGMS Step Club and Orchestra.
The event is free and is open to the public. Cost for dinner tickets is $10.
Students will be auctioning off original art such as photography, seashell art, fashion items, pottery, paintings, and recycled paper art.
All items have been created by students and staff, and all proceeds will to the March of Dimes. The evening is organized by sixth grade students; however the entire student body and community are encouraged to participate.
The project was inspired by The Peace Book by Todd Parr, which encourages people and describes peace in the simplest of terms as making new friends, sharing a meal, feeling good about yourself, and more.
