VERO BEACH — Plans are underway for the Fourth Annual 5K Turkey Trot Against Hunger run/walk to be held Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24, at 7:30 a.m. at Riverside Park. Registration is now open and participants are encouraged to register online at www.trotagainsthunger.org or directly at Runner’s Depot, 436 21st Street, Vero Beach or by calling (772) 569-7364.
Race day check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. and the cost is $25 in advance or $30 the day of the race. A sweet potato pancake breakfast provided by Marsh Landing Restaurant will be available beginning at 8 a.m. for all race participants and their families.
The need has never been greater, and all proceeds will benefit Harvest Food & Outreach Center, which provides food, crisis services, education and job readiness programs for hundreds of families in Indian River County.
Runners and spectators are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Harvest emergency food pantry.
