Kristia N. Sands, 51, died Oct. 31, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Pontiac, Mich., and lived in Vero Beach and Key West for 22 years, coming from Rochester, Mich.
She was the shell curator at the Shell Warehouse, Key West.
Survivors include her mother, Nancy W. Sands, of Vero Beach, brother, Kenneth A. Sands, of Clarkson, Mich.; and sisters, Karen B. Sands and Katharine H. Sands, both of Big Pine Key.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth D. Sands; and brother, Kurt D. Sands.

A scattering of the ashes will take place at St. Ignace, Mich., at a later date.
