William “Bill” Glynn Jr., Vero Beach

William “Bill” Glynn Jr. died Oct. 27, 2011, at Consulate Health Care, Vero Beach.

He was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach.

He retired from a career as an investment banker and associate managing director of public finance in Fort Lauderdale.

He acquired Atlantic Fisherman’s Wharf on the Pompano Beach Fishing Pier.

He also was a real estate broker with Thorpe/Sotheby’s International Realty.

He served as chairman of the Broward County Republican Party, was president of the Summerplace Improvement Association, president of the North Beach Civic Association, director of the Downdrift Coalition, past president of Save Our Shores Inc., and president of the Barrier Island Coalition.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri Glynn; sons, William George Glynn III, of Jupiter and Robert Anthony Glynn, of Delray Beach; daughters, Susan Amy Godfrey, of Godley, Texas, and Diane Marie Edgley, of Jupiter; sister, Mary Cameron Frey, of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be at noon Nov. 5 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

A reception will follow in the Parish Hall of the church.
