Russell Cowan Wright, 85, of Vero Beach, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at VNA Hospice House.
He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Ashburn, Ga., and moved to Vero Beach 20 years ago, coming from Northport, N.Y.
Wright was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict and later retired from the Army Reserves as brigadier general.
He retired in 1990 as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry.
Wright was a member of Army Reserve Officers Association, had served as President of the Walkers Glen Homeowners Association of Vero Beach and attended the First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Hildur K. Wright; three children; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
An inurnment with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
