John “Johnny” Post, 83, Vero Beach

John “Johnny” Post, 83, died recently at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

He was born in Clifton, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 1960.

He worked as a postal clerk for 29 years, 21 of which were spent at the Beach Station in Vero Beach until he retired in 1989.

He served in the Army during the Korean War, when he received a Purple Heart.

He was of Protestant faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane Ford; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association, 820 37th Place, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

There will be an informal tree planting service at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Beach Post Office, Vero Beach, in his memory.
