WABASSO — Deputies are asking for the public's help for information on a shooting that left a man dead Saturday morning in Wabasso. Sheriff's officials were investigating the incident as a homicide. Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers urged anyone with information to come forward. "Anybody who lives in the Wabasso area who may have seen or heard something...any delivery drivers...we're looking for information from you," Flowers said as he stood at the scene of the shooting. "We need your help to solve this case." [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxNFubfwApE[/embed] Gunfire rang out about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of 64th Avenue, Wabasso, sheriff's officials said. The shooting happened not far from Wabasso Foods, Head Start of Indian River and Allen Chapel AME Church. Deputies responded and found a man with several gunshot wounds. The man was taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, said Lt. Kevin Jaworski, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office.
