Jack W. O’Neil, 85, died Oct. 19, 2011 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and lived in Vero Beach for 18 years, coming from Chicago, Ill.
He served in the Army Air Corps during the World War II. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps Reserves and an R.O.T.C. instructor.
Before retirement in 1989, he worked for ITT Corp. in Chicago for 15 years, retiring as vice president of public relations.
He was the past president of the Chicago Advertising Association.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and his master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie O’Neil Ambrose, of Louisville, Ky., and Eileen O’Neil Grigutis, of New Albany, Ind.; companion, Pat Cannon, of Vero Beach; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice O’Neil.

Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in, Louisville.
