Verna M. Whisner, 91, died Oct. 17, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Collis, Minn., and lived in Vero Beach for four years.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Gail, Dean, and Rick, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Paulette Walker, of Vero Beach; sisters, Delores Burkhart and Glennis Copeland; brother, Kenny; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin E. “Bud” Whisner; sisters, Viola, Marcella, and Carol; brothers, Floyd, Bud, and Elwyn; son, Lyle Whisner; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
