Charles Meredith “Rusty” Boorse, 86, died Oct. 15, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Sebastian for nine years, coming from Hialeah.
Before retirement in 1987, he was employed as a foreign clerk for the Postal Service for more than 30 years.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He graduated from Seventh Day Adventist School in New Jersey.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Frances Boorse, of Sebastian; son, Curtis Boorse, of Smyrna, N.C; daughter, Caren Boorse McMillan, of Sebastian; brother, Bruce Boorse, of Sellersville, Pa; sister, Mary Alice Leach, of Lansdale, Pa; five grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans Guard.
