VERO BEACH – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) invites the public to its Howl-O-Ween and Mutt Show event on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Howl-O-Ween at The Humane Society means lots of fun for our two-legged and four-legged friends” says Humane Society Assistant Development Director Connie Cotherman. According to Cotherman, the day will feature activities such as tractor-pulled hayrides, a haunted barn, bounce house, dunk tank and sack races. Attendees can also bring a pre-carved “animal themed” pumpkin for judging or watch the “Slithering Snakes Alive” wildlife presentation.
In addition to Howl-O-Ween the shelter will also be holding its 30th Annual All-American Mutt Show. Awards will be given for dogs who are tallest, smallest, have the best costume, the best tail-wagger, most talented and most mixed breed. Registration begins at noon and judging starts at 1 p.m.
Admission to the event is $10 per vehicle, payable at the door and includes all activities. Tickets will be available for food concessions such as hotdogs, hamburgers, popcorn and soda.
The Howl-O-Ween event will be held at the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. The Indian River Blood Bank will also be on hand so that attendees can have fun and save lives through blood donations.
