Vernita Jones, 49, died Sept. 29, 2011, at her home.
She was born in Vero Beach and lived in Wabasso for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Fred Simmons; son, Greg Jones; and brother, Lonnie Bertion.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Sylvester Jones Jr., of Wabasso; son, Mervin Jones, of Wabasso; brothers, Joseph Simmons, of Gifford, Freddie Horne and Alfred Horne, both of Santiago, Calif.; sisters, Mildred Horne, of Santiago, Lucille Bartree, of Orlando, and Johnnie Simmons, Clinetta Stuckey, Jackie Austin and Freddie Mae Joseph, all of Vero Beach; and 10 grandchildren.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at Wabasso Church of God, with burial to follow in Wabasso Cemetery.
