Miriam V. Carter, 84, died Oct. 6, 2011, at VNA Hospice House.
She was born in Cincinnati and moved to Sebastian 20 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, James W. Carter, of Sebastian; son, Bruce Carter, of Cincinnati; sisters, Marjory Ertel, of Crossville, Tenn., and Dolores Little, of Sebastian; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Ln., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A memorial service will be at noon Oct. 11 at the Park Place Club House, Sebastian.
