Harold “Sarge Martin” Barrett, 86, died Oct. 4, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach.
He served in the Navy as an aviation machinist’s mate from 1942 to 1950 and was recalled to active duty for the Korean War and served in the Air Force as a flight engineer from 1951 to 1958.
He was an owner/operator in trucking, hauling Indian River citrus and Florida produce.
Survivors include his son, Richard Barrett; and sister, Cecelia Golieri, of Vero Beach.
