SEBASTIAN — On Tuesday, Oct. 4, citizens throughout the City of Sebastian are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “28th Annual National Night Out” Crime and Drug Prevention Event.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime, personal safety efforts. Ultimately, the end result is to strengthen neighborhood spirit through community, business and local law enforcement partnerships. Our intention is to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
From 5:30 p.m. through 8 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 4, we are asking our residents to spend the evening outside with their neighbors, local businesses, law enforcement and The GFWC Sebastian Woman’s Club at Riverview Park in the City of Sebastian.
The Sebastian Police Department will be hosting a variety of special events, K-9 demonstrations, multi-agency law enforcement display, fire rescue equipment, boats, and child fingerprinting and ID, American Red Cross and many, many more.
There will be a Blood Drive for anyone wishing to be a hero and donate blood. Learn about your local Crime Stoppers, home alarms and home safety improvements. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided while they last.
Help us by joining the Sebastian Police Department and other local businesses and agencies in an effort to prevent crime and victimization.
