VERO BEACH — Community involvement is the most powerful force any law enforcement agency has in the fight against crime. Come join the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Vero Beach Police Department at Riverside Park in Vero Beach.
Two other National Night Out events will be held at Riverview Park in Sebastian, sponsored by the Sebastian Police Department, and at the park near Fellsmere City Hall, sponsored by the Fellsmere Police Department.
The event is Oct. 4 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
This fun-filled night will include Indian River County Sheriff’s Office static displays, helicopter, boats, K-9 Unit demonstration, child fingerprinting, Motorcycle Patrol and Crime Scene Investigation (Sebastian location only), along with the Indian River Shores Police Department, American Red Cross and Indian River County Emergency Services (Fire/EMS). Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. So come out and show your support for our neighborhood watch programs and unite to help fight crime.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watches, and locally hosted by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and Target.
