Boys & Girls Clubs to receive $10,000 from Exchange Club of Sebastian

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The club directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County’s Fellsmere and Sebastian Clubs each received a check for $1,250 from Rene VanDeVoorde, president of the Exchange Club of Sebastian. The Exchange Club has pledged to give the Fellsmere and Sebastian Clubs a total of $10,000 to be shared among the two clubs.

The Exchange Club of Sebastian is comprised of men and women focused on their national project – the prevention of child abuse and other community service projects.

The funds will be used to support programs provided each day to Club members. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Indian River County has three clubhouses that provide a fun, safe, positive environment for kids where members participate in quality programs that equip them with the tools necessary to succeed in school and in life.

Each year, more than 2,000 boys and girls, at risk and in need, are taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County. They benefit from trained, caring, professional staff and volunteers who help young people take control of their lives, envision productive futures and reach their goals. The three clubhouses in Indian River County are located in Fellsmere, Sebastian, and Vero Beach.
