Tropical Storm Philippe remains in the Eastern Atlantic and poses no threat to land. The track for the storm shows it remaining a tropical storm over the next five days and remaining off Africa’s coast. It is currently 735 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands.
The National Weather Service projects the storm to continue on a northwestward track with little change to its strength.
Tropical Storm Philippe’s maximum sustained winds are currently about 50 mph with stronger gusts. It is moving relatively slowly at 7 mph.
