VERO BEACH — The planning committee for the 4th Annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars, the featured fundraiser for the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, has announced that the event will return to the stage at the Waxlax for the Performing Arts at Saint Edward’s Upper School, 1895 Saint Edward’s Drive, on Saturday evening, March 10, 2012.
The event will once again offer an evening of tempting tangos, sizzling salsas and jiving jitterbugs, along with some new twists and surprises, performed by local stars matched with professional dance instructors. The venue will accommodate comfortable seating for 800, plus an entertaining cocktail party and intermission plus more special surprises held just prior to the competition.
Star dancers, paired with their instructors, will train for 20 hours over several months and gather community votes in advance of the evening on the website (now under construction) and then later at the dance competition itself. Each $1 raised will equate to a vote for the dancer. All dancers will be judged on 50% money raised for Healthy Start Coalition and 50% based on their dancing skills. The official announcement of the 2012 star dancers paired with their professional dance instructors will be made at the end of October.
The IRC Healthy Start Coalition unites together locally in community partnerships to promote a system of care that optimizes/maximizes healthy outcomes for all pregnant women, infants, young children and their families. Proceeds from this event will benefit Healthy Start Coalition’s programs and services.
