Mildred Ann DeVita, 70, Vero Beach

Mildred Ann DeVita, 70, died Sept. 11, 2011, at Port St. Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care Center in Port St. Lucie.

She was born in Birmingham, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach for 13 years, coming from Alabama.

Survivors include her husband, Charles J. DeVita, of Port St. Lucie; son, Douglas Eugene “Butch” Hudspeath Jr., of Birmingham; daughter, Tammy Lyn Deratany, of Vero Beach; brother, J. Hugh McDowell, of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.

A memorial will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach with the Rev. A.C. “Jack” Diehl officiating.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
