Hugh J. Sheridan, 91, died Sept. 17, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Haverstraw, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for five years, coming from Harrington Park, N.J.
He attended Syracuse University.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the Underwater Sound Laboratory, New London, Conn.
He joined Caltex Oil Co. (now Chevron) and retired as the corporate secretary of the company.
Survivors include his son, Hugh T. Sheridan, of Hollywood; and daughter, Joan E. Sheridan, of Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Sheridan.
Services and interment will be private in New York.
