St. Edward’s Middle School loses to Holy Trinity 20-34

VERO BEACH — A slow start and still hampered by the loss of starting quarterback Carson Proctor,

St. Edward’s Middle School lost to Holy Trinity 20-34. The Pirates relied on backup quarterback Danny Walsh and the coaching of David Rogers to keep the contest close.

Brandon Valdez provided most of the excitement for St. Edward’s, rushing for 103 yards and three touchdowns.

Desmond Haigler ran for 48 yards on eight carries, and Adam Baker rushed for 31 yards on seven carries.

“It was a hard game,” said left tackle Mathew Hendren after watching the game film. “We need to

work on our handoffs.”

The Pirates play Warner Christian Academy Sept.20 at St. Edward’s with a 4 p.m. game time.
