  • Riverside Theatre presents The Comedy Zone, a monthly showcase of up-and coming comedians touring the comedy circuit.   • The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 18th Annual Lifestyle & Media Auction on Friday, Sept. 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the SpringHill Suites Marriot in Vero Beach. The cost to attend is $10 for chamber members; $20 for non-members. All proceeds benefit Chamber programs.   • The Indian River Habitat Home Center is holding its very popular annual Talk Like A Pirate Day Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Habitat Home Center, 4580 N. US 1, Vero Beach. Come to the store and “talk like a pirate” and you’ll get 10 percent off. If you dress like a pirate, you’ll get another 10 percent off. There will be food and drinks, doors prizes and balloon animals. It’s Pirate Day so – anything goes. Proceeds from the Home Center go toward Habitat’s mission of providing simple, basic homes with qualified families in need in Indian River County.   • Petco is partnering with H.A.L.O. Rescue to promote a special adoption event from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring only black cats and kittens on-site at the Petco in Vero Beach, 5975 20th Street. H.A.L.O. Rescue will have numerous, beautiful black cats and kittens ranging from three months old to adults that all need homes. The adoption event will be held just inside the PetCo front door at the H.A.L.O. Rescue “Kitty City”.
