Violet Doherty, 83, died Sept. 1, 2011, at Consulate Health Care Center of Vero Beach.
She was born in Thornton, Ill., and lived in Sebastian for 19 years, coming from Illinois.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the American Legion in Sebastian.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, James A. Doherty Jr., of Sebastian; son, Gary Meyers, of Arizona; and daughter, Diane Richmond, of Florida.
