Omas Morris, 84, Sebastian

Omas Morris, 84, died Aug. 28, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Sebastian.

He was born in West Palm Beach and lived in Sebastian for 29 years, coming from his birthplace.

Before retiring, he was employed as a supervisor for Florida Power & Light Co. for 39 years.

He was an entertainer in the Sebastian area, performing for many years as Omas and Lee.

He was a member of Roseland United Methodist Church, Roseland.

He was a member of Elks Lodge 2714, Moose Lodge 1764 and the Eagles, all in Sebastian.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Kay Morris of Sebastian; sons, Larry Omas Morris of Palm Bay and Gary Thomas of Quicksburg, Va.; daughter, Terry Jean Sams of Dandridge, Tenn.; stepson, Rusty Woodbury of Loxahatchee; stepdaughters, Diane Barber and Deborah Hyatt, both of Covington, Ga., Dawn Denton of Orange City and Catherine Skinner of Newborn, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, John Woodbury. Memorial contributions may be made to Elks Lodge 2714, 731 S. Fleming St., Sebastian, FL 32958-5016.

Services: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.

The Elks will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Sept. 1 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Anne Godbold of Roseland United Methodist Church officiating.
